About Me:
|
My name is Marisa Palpallatoc and I'm a Communications major at the University of South Alabama. I'm a junior and my concentration is in broadcast journalism. I like hanging out with friends, going to the beach, playing ukulele, and reading. I was born in Alabama and raised in Navarre, Florida where I graduated from Navarre High School.
I have lived in Navarre all my life and I was blessed to have the beach be such a huge part of my life whereas so many people in America only get to come once a year or even less. My friends and I would go surfing during the summers and after school. We would play volleyball, go jet-skiing, or even just lay out on the beach and meet the tourists who frequented our little sandy town. When I was a junior in high school, I volunteered at the Marine Science Station on Navarre Beach as a part of a dual enrollment class that was offered at my school. We went for two class periods a day to the station which was located on the island and we volunteered for the events that the station put on for our community. It was with this class I learned so much about marine life and our unique little island. It was when I first started really appreciating what our area had to offer. I created this website to give a visual representation to the beauty of my home and to direct interested travelers to my favorite areas. Navarre is not like any other small town. It may sound cliche but there is definitely something special about it and I want to share it with as many people as possible. |
